Chief Officer/1st Mate

**Position:** Chief Officer/First Mate  
**Yacht:** 50m Private Motor Yacht  
**Location:** Fort Lauderdale, Florida  
**Contract:** Permanent  
**Leave:** 38 days per year  

**Description:**  
We are seeking a well-rounded Chief Officer/First Mate to join our 50m private motor yacht. The ideal candidate will hold a US passport and have significant experience in a similar role. This is a permanent position based in Fort Lauderdale, with minimal guest usage at the moment. Preference is given to candidates already based in the area who are comfortable with a non-live-aboard arrangement while the yacht is in South Florida.

**Responsibilities:**
- Oversee all deck operations, including docking, mooring, and tender handling.
- Manage and mentor the deck crew, ensuring high standards of performance and safety.
- Assist the Captain with navigation, watchkeeping, and overall vessel management.
- Maintain the exterior of the yacht, ensuring it is in pristine condition.
- Conduct regular safety drills and ensure compliance with maritime regulations.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs with the engineering department.
- Liaise with guests and ensure their needs are met during their time onboard.
- Handle administrative tasks related to deck operations and crew management.

**Qualifications:**
- US passport holder (mandatory).
- Proven experience as a Chief Officer/First Mate on yachts of 50 meters or larger.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of deck operations, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Proficient in navigation and watchkeeping.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and take initiative in various situations.
- Preference for candidates based in Fort Lauderdale or nearby areas.
